I hope that everyone is planning to have a great holiday season. As you all can see we have been working hard over the past year as a Board to follow our slogan of “Making Bay Lakes Better." Change is always difficult and everyone reacts to it in different ways. It is not a solo adventure but a community one. We cannot do it alone and do not take the credit for our improvements. As a Board we hope to hold everyone to the same standards as we hold ourselves. This is a community effort and as president of our community HOA Board I would like to thank everyone personally for sticking with us. You are making Bay Lakes Better!! Thank you, the Board cannot do it alone.
As a Volunteer Board we donate many hours of our personal time to work for all of us on keeping the neighborhood united and in the pursuit of a unified community.
The definition of a community is: 1 : a unified body of individuals: as a : state, commonwealth b : the people with common interests living in a particular area; c : an interacting population of various kinds of individuals (as species) in a common location d : a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society <a community of retired persons> e : a group linked by a common policy f : a body of persons or nations having a common history or common social, economic, and political interests <the international community> g : a body of persons of common and especially professional interests scattered through a larger society <the academic community> 2 : society at large 3 a : joint ownership or participation <community of goods> b : common character : likeness <community of interests> c : social activity : fellowship d : a social state or condition
Our Bay Lakes Community is socially diverse, we are all busy working to have a family and in this busy world it is very nice to come home to our community. The Board is committed to the betterment of our area not only with each of our homes, HOA Park, Lakes, and the Green Spaces in our area but in the interaction between our neighbors. The physical aspects are sometimes the more challenging, but the changes with the most visible outcome. This can be seen in our park, which has been improved significantly in the past year.
The interpersonal communication between neighbors is one that requires taking time from our busy schedules to stop and begin a conversation with “hello neighbor” and get to know each other. Beginning these seemingly small interactions and getting to know each other will help bring us closer together as a Community and improve the safety and value of Bay Lakes. You never know, you might have a good time! Building a relationship with each other is only going to bond Bay Lakes together more; we are seeing this on social media (Nextdoor.com). With this said, you must be mindful that this media is public for everyone to see and should be used to communicate openly between all of us. We should all want this to show our best to our neighboring communities. Bay Lakes cares, not only about Bay Lakes but all the neighboring communities around us.
Working together over the past year to add some new ideas we began to have more Community Events taking advantage of social media (Next Door) and using our HOA Park more. At these functions we've listened to you and took into considerations your thoughts and ideas to adjust these functions to keep things in Bay Lakes evolving socially. We want everyone to embrace these events and hope that you understand that you, the Bay Lakes Community, guide us when we make changes. We listen to your comments positive and negative weighing out what seems to be the best option for everyone. As you have to understand, just like in a family, not everyone is happy with variation. But it is what life is about.
The key to our success is communication and understanding of each other. As a community we will never stop changing and trying to adapt to families and friends which move away and new faces that move in. Help all of us by stopping by and saying “Hi, welcome to our neighborhood” it will only make us stronger.
With all of this said for your part in the community we would be continuing to ask and work with each and every one of you to keep up your property to the standards we have within our CC&R’s and Orange County Community Regulations. We know that many of you have worked very hard over the past year to tackle projects of all sizes, which can be very difficult, but you did it. Again thank you. We are here to help and to work with you as this takes place. This will not happen overnight but our vision is to have any situations corrected as soon as possible. If you have not correct an issue with your property we ask that do you do now, and please be in communication with the Board.
Please take the time to update your personal information on our Bay Lakes HOA website so we can effectively communicate with the Bay Lakes Community. Also all of the HOA rules and regulations are there for you to re-familiar yourself with them. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
We are in a great location with lots of diverse family activities close by, and also hidden from the public eye. This it what makes us unique in location and our community allows us all to live and prosper out of the way of the busyness of Orlando. Let’s all communicate and work together keeping Bay Lakes the great little gem it is while increasing the benefits to those living here, such as safety and property values.
Please go to ourwebsite, get to know your Volunteer HOA Board Members as we get to know you, look at our upcoming activities, and please plan to spend time with us in the Bay Lakes HOA Park.
Thank you all for working with up as we evolve together.
Josh and his family are very grateful for all of your support.

New Year, New Us!
(Making our Events Even Better!)
As we start this New Year, sometimes it’s important to pause, regroup and remember. In that spirit I wanted to share some thoughts and guidelines for all of us as we attend community events.
First, thanks to all of you who volunteered, attended and sent words of encouragement. Our HOA Board is a volunteer board and most, if not all of us, have full-time careers, families and other responsibilities.
The good news is that more and more of our community is volunteering, attending and participating in our events! We love this, as this is one of our primary goals, to build a strong, diverse community. Our commitment to you is that as we plan and organize events, we will constantly work on our communication and attention to detail. But we need your help. In the spirit of “All I Ever Needed to Know I learned in Kindergarten," here are some guidelines that would really help all of us.
Bay Lakes HOA Event Guidelines
1. Treat everyone with respect. We will all like some events more than others. Be flexible. If you do have a compliant please find a board member and work it out with them. It’s ok to ask questions. But harsh words are hurtful. Understand board members families are present to include their children. It’s hurtful when they hear their parents being talked about in a negative light.
2. No Yelling! By this I mean on Social Media. It is completely inappropriate to vent on social media. Please work issues out with the board.
3. Wait your turn. Some events require waiting in line or patience as things get set up.
Use this as an opportunity to get to know your neighbors.
4. Be courteous and RSVP please. This helps us to have enough for everyone and plan well. You can easily do this on nextdoor.com.
5. Play by the Rules. For some events we will need to see ID or you may need to be present to participate. Please be flexible and realize the rules should apply to everyone to be fair.
6. Have Fun!!! We live in a fantastic community! Get involved and show up and enjoy. Meet new neighbors, these events are for all of us.
Happy New Year Everyone! Let’s make this the best year ever as we get to know each other, help each other and work together. See ya at the next event.
